Cyclic performance of a monopile in spatially variable clay using an advanced constitutive model

چکیده
The performance of monopiles in cohesive soils is great interest for future offshore wind farm developments, particularly under the cyclic loads experienced ocean environment. Clay behaviour during undrained loading complex and involves accumulation plastic strains, generation excess pore-water pressures degradation initial stiffness. In this paper, a laterally-loaded monopile spatially variable clay investigated first time. A kinematic hardening constitutive model used 3D finite element analysis to capture hysteretic stress-strain clay. installed overconsolidated London Clay, which present at several farms Thames Estuary. coupled with random field representations stiffness structure. statistical characterisation fields was undertaken considering parameter ranges observed laboratory tests. Under one-way loading, showed ratcheting behaviour, where pile rotation accumulates increasing numbers load cycles. secant also increased due negative pore-pressures This occurred both homogeneous subjected an extreme dynamic event soil response around variability pressure over time as strain accumulated. However, overall foundation governed by spatial average mobilised range demonstrates how natural can have strong influence on performance.

A Constitutive Model for Time-Dependent Behavior of Clay
A new elastic-viscoplastic (EVP) constitutive model is proposed for the analysis of time-dependent behavior of clay. The proposed model is based on the bounding surface plasticity and the concept of viscoplastic consistency framework to establish continuous transition from plasticity to rate dependent viscoplasticity. Unlike the overstress based models, this model will meet the consistency cond...
متن کاملA Constitutive Model for Sands
In this paper, an elastoplastic constitutive model is presented for predicting sandy soil behavior under monotonic and cyclic loadings. The model is based on the CJS3 model that takes into account deviatoric and isotropic mechanisms of plasticity. The flow rule in deviatoric mechanism is non-associated and a kinematic hardening law controls the evolution of the
yield surface. In the present...
